Biography

Samuel was born about 1792.

  • Samuel married Anne Vickery in Co Cork in 1813[1][2]

A Vickery descendant wrote this about Samuel "He gave up farming for the tobacco business and with more opportunities of making money than farming was in turn a corn merchant tithe proctor county “cess” or rate collector a man of splendid business abilities which he turned to such account as to amass in early life a large fortune. Their home near Skibbereen called “Glenview” was one of the best near town."[3].

He died at Glenview, Skibbereen, Co Cork, Ireland on 2 April 1852[4].
