Biography
Domenico Lewa is recorded in the non-territorial Roman Catholic congregation of Göteborg with his wife and children. He married Maria Carmina Jaconelli in Italy 30 November 1897 and they arrived to Göteborg in January 1904. Their four children were born in Göteborg.[1]
In the birth record of his daughter Rosa in January 1904 (written in Latin) his occupation is musici ambulatoris. It is noted that his credentials show two different birth locations: San Biagio Saracinisco, province Caserta and Rochetta al Volturno, province Campo basso.[2]
The family was transferred to the records of Masthugget (where they actually lived) in 1928. Here the spelling was changed to Leva. It is possible that the "w" was due to the Catholic minister being German.[3]
