Biography

Some online trees and secondary sources have included a son Nathaniel in the family of George and Mary Lewis. There is no documentary evidence to support this, and the connection to those parents has been severed.

There is a Nathaniel Lewis son of Edmond, born in Watertown, and resided in Swansea. There may have been some confusion between the two families.

There is no evidence that the George Lewes, born in Brenchley, Kent, England, who migrated to Plymouth Colony circc 1634, had a son named Nathaniel. This was erroneously reported in several authored biographical sketches of George Lewes/Lewis. There was a Nathaniel Lewis who lived in Swansea, Plymouth Colony, in the 1600s but he was not the son of George.

I believe the Nathnaile who lived in Swanse, was a son of Edmond Lewis.

Can you point to biographical sketches that incorrectly include Nathaniel as a son. It would be good to add some research notes to George's profile.
