Hi, Debi. Did you not see my note on Schermerhorn-3 where I explained that Leonard and Leendert are the same person? Leendert is the Dutch name and Leonard is the English equivalent. It looks to me like he used both versions of the name.

Names of our New Netherland ancestors can get very confusing. If you've not run into these topics before, check out http://www.trailofourancestors.com/dutch_na.htm , http://www.hopefarm.com/dutchnam.htm , and http://www.olivetreegenealogy.com/nn/names.shtml

Hi Debi, Remember, as part of the honor code you signed, "We cite sources, and we care about accuracy". Please, when creating new profiles cite your sources or ask for help on G2G to find sources prior to creating a profile. Most of the Rutsen family that you're entering in WikiTree are duplicate profiles. See Rutger Rutsen-9, which is the same person as Rutsen-28 who you just added. Thanks! Kay Wilson, Ranger

Debi,

What in the world are you doing still awake at 4:17 AM? Genealogy is not that interesting.

Thanks for the merges

Hi Debi, do you have a source for the Van Renssenlaer?

Hi Debi!

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Let me know. I can help you figure out if there's a project and introduce you to the project leaders.

Hi Debi,

Congratulations, you have now been a WikiTree member for one month! Here are a few ways to dive in even deeper:

  • Check out our blog, a monthly newsletter along with tips, interviews, and guest posts from people in the larger genealogy community.

Let me know if I can be of help.

Hi,

I noticed your new Club 100 badge.

Congratulations ?

Keep up the nice work.

Hello Debi,

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

Hi Debi,

Just a quick PS

Don't forget to Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House or ask a question in any of the other categories. There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: for that "special" ancestor who is eluding you.

Best Wishes, and have fun adding your leaves and branches!

Thank you for volunteering!

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community! Please remember that we are trying to build one Collaborative Global Family Tree which means only one profile per person. It is important to ensure that no duplicates are created and profiles are properly sourced.

To help you get started, check out an introductory WikiTree video that a member created. For member benefits, see our Community Members page.

We also have a Mentor Team who will be glad to answer questions and help you with any specific problems.

Welcome and Enjoy!
