William Wendell Lewis, son of William Lewis and Laura Jones, was born in Garden City, Blue Earth Minnesota, 12 May 1920. [1][2] He is listed there with his parents and siblings in the 1930 US Census, [3] and in Cambria, Blue Earth in 1940.[4]
In 1941, William registered for the US Draft [2] and was enlisted, 14 November 1941. He served as a Technician 5th Grade until his discharge, 18 December 1945.[5]
Following his discharge from the US Army, William married Beatrice Tanley in Cambria, Blue Earth, 27 October 1946.[6] They settled in the home of Beatrice's parents in New Ulm, Brown, Minnesota, where they are listed in the 1950 US Census.[7]
William passed away, 17 October 1979 in Fort Snelling, Hennepin, Minnesota. He is buried in Cambria Cemetery, Blue Earth, MInnesota.[8]
