Biography

James was born 3 August 1892 in Maymead, Tennessee.

James was a veteran of World War I.

On April 22nd, 1942 James registered for the WW2 draft in Boone County, WV. At this time he and Ethel were living in Prosperity, WV. James was working for Keppers Coal Company as a miner.[1]

15 April 1943 at 2:05 o'clock James was instantly killed in a slate fall in the mines of Sprague, WV. He was a member of the United Miners of America Local 5778.[2][3]
