Biography

1776 Project
Thomas Lewis Sr. served with Emanuel's Regiment, Burke County, Georgia Militia during the American Revolution.

Thomas is named in his father's 1766 will. He received 250 acres of land in St. George Parish along Stalking Head Branch.[1]

Thomas was issued a certificate as a refugee soldier by Col. Asa Emanuel.[2]

Thomas Lewis,Sr. Was Clerk of the Court for Burke and then Screven County. He appears in numerous land conveyances.
