Thomas was born about 1778 (he was age 17 when he matriculated at Oxford University in 1795). He studied at St John's College, Oxford, became curate of East Wordham, Hampshire in 1801, and of Boxford, Berkshire in 1802. He passed away in 1813 at Old Park, Enfield, Middlesex, which became the residence of his daughter Elizabeth and her husband.
