DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Keith or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree: It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Keith:

Hi Greta,

Thanks for the greeting. I do have a question for you.

When I went to put my 23andme DNA test on wikitree, I didn't see anywhere to put a link to my test or to upload it or to point to it on 23andme or anything that would result in wikitree having my DNA test. The closest I came was putting my gedmatch ID on there. It said that that was optional.

I'm not sure if my gedmatch ID is all you need. But even if it is, the gedmatch ID is optional. So if I didn't put that on there, how would I get my DNA test to wikitree?

Thanks!

Hi Keith

DNA works a little differently on WikiTree. We don’t store the results, just identify the tests you have taken on your ancestors’ profiles. This usually takes 24 hours from adding your DNA test details. See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:How_to_Get_Started_with_DNA#Make_sure_your_test_appears_on_ancestor_profiles

At the moment, you are a guest, so WikiTree doesn’t know your ancestors. If you add tags and volunteer, you will be able to add ancestors to the tree and your DNA tests will display on their profiles. You can do this by editing your tags/comments, adding a couple of sentences to your biography, or posting a brief message in the public comments section of your profile page. After this, click the Save Tags and Volunteer button.

Once we know you are here to help grow the tree, a greeter will be happy to confirm your membership. If you have questions about WikiTree, please feel free to contact me via my profile

Wendy ~ WikiTree Greeter

PS If you ever get a "Page Not Found" error when you click a link in a WikiTree email, you can usually find a functioning link in the public comments section of your profile page

PPS Please use the reply option under comments made to contact me, or click on my name and either send me a private message, or post a comment on my profile.
