Junius A. (31) address I enclose as taken from a letter. It will be seen by the date (1889) that without the aid of some friend of the Lewis race who is willing "'to labor and to wait" we should be likely to lose sight of each other entirely. My sister Lavinia (66) is in Iowa, having recently removed from Franklin, Neb. Martha (67) lives at Johnson, Vt.
We were all brought up on a farm and all married farmers and are not tired of the farm yet.
My own home is situated one half mile from the center of the town, about one mile from the home of grandfather Lewis, and I can see the stone which marks his grave from the window as I write. We own our home, do our own work as far as possible, earn our own living, pay our own debts and feel independent (in a great degree) of the hard times.
