Biography

John Liddane may have been known by the patronymic John "Thomas" Liddane.

John and Mary Liddane and their children ("Thomas, Michael, Pat Denis, John, Ellen, Mary, Cath., Honora") were enumerated in Tullig in the 1851 census, which was consulted in 1921 to determine their daughter Catherine's eligibility for the Old Age Pension.^[1]

Research Notes

Honora Troy née Liddane, whose father John Liddane of Carrownaweelaun was dead when she married in 1868, was previously conflated here with another Honora Liddane, whose father John Liddane of Tullig. The latter is listed last, but in a different colour, in the list of siblings on her sister's Old Age Pension search form, so it is not clear whether she was the youngest child or was not at home for the 1851 census.^[2]

The brothers John Liddane, whose date of death has not been definitively established, and Thomas Liddane, who died on 10 Dec 1872, were previously partly conflated on WikiTree.
