James was born in Roche about 1822. [1] He was baptised in the parish of Roche on 5 May 1822. His father James was a miner, and he and his wife Mary lived at Belovely in the parish. [2]
James Liddicoat married Blanch Trethewey in Roche on 28 March 1846. He was of full age whereas she was under age (though judging by her baptism date not by very much). James was a blacksmith residing in Roche Churchtown, and his father was recorded as John, a labourer. The Tretheweys were resident at Tresayes, in the parish of Roche, and Blanch's father Samuel was a farmer. Both bride and groom signed their names on the register. The witnesses were John Mewton and Samuel Liddicoat.[3]
James died in 1904, aged 82. His death was registered in St Austell in the second quarter of that year. [4]
