Birth & Upbringing: Born 1957 in Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia.
Education: He was schooled in Salisbury at Prince Edward High School. [1]
Military Service: Russell was with the RLI for his National Sservice for nine months before joining the force.
Occupation: Policeman - joined the BSA Police in September 1976; Reg. No. 9742; served until June 1978. He was initially posted to CPU (Crime Prevention Unit) Salisbury South, before transferring to Rusape.
'Demise:' Killed in Action - vehicle ambush while serving as a Patrol Officer with Duty Uniform - SB Attachment in Nyamaropa TTL (Operation Thrasher). [2] [3].
Burial:Russell Liebermann was buried at Warren Hills Cemetery on 9 June 1978 following a semi-military funeral ceremony.
