Barnet Lifshitz was born about 1894 in Russia (now Belarus). He was the son of Nathan Livshits and Hannah Dina Garlick Livshits.[1] According to the census of 1930, Barnett Lifsheits had immigrated to the U.S. in 1910 and married in 1920. He was a veteran of World War I, living in Detroit with his wife Esther and daughter Anna D., and working as a plumber in his own shop.[2] He was working as a machinist for Chrysler Motor Company before he died of coronary thrombosis at age 40.[3]
