Leoluca Liggio is born around 1823 in Corleone. He is the son of Maestro Pasquale Liggio and Paola Bono, who married in 1808.
In 1834, there is a courtyard known by the name of Maestro Pasquale lo Liggio, who lives there with his family. The cortile appears before the Strada della Lombardia in the census. Pasquale is 53 (b. 1781), his wife Paola is 42 (b. 1792), and their children living at home are Domenico, 19, Serafina, 18, Maria, 16, Leoluca, 11 (b. 1823), Lucia, 8, Marco, 5, and Giovanni, 2.[1]
Leoluca marries Leoluchina Palazzotto, daughter of Maestro Gaetano Palazzotto and Maria Glaviano, on 22 February 1843. His mother has died by this time.[2]
Maestro Leoluca and Leoluchina have at least four children: Paola (1844), Maria (c. 1856), Rosa (1858), and Gaetana (c. 1859).
Paola is born 10 October 1844 and baptized on the 12th. Her godparents are Maestro Gaetano Ragusa and his unmarried daughter, Agata.[3]
Rosa Liggio, the daughter of Maestro Leoluca Liggio, a miller (mugnaio), and Leoluchina Palazzotto, is born on 2 October 1858 in her parents' home on via Lombardia in Corleone.[4]
Maria marries Michelangelo Gabriele, son of Francesco Gabriele and Cira Criscione, on 8 January 1876 in Corleone. Her father has died by this time.[5]
Gaetana marries Maestro Bernardo di Miceli on 2 August 1879. This record shortens her mother's surname to "Palazzo."[6] Gaetana and Bernardo are first cousins.
