Son of Daniel Light and his first wife Anna Maria Heller.

Obituary

John Light, a native of Pennsylvania but for nearly fifty years a resident of Crawford county, died at the home of his nephew, Swingley Light, two and one-half miles east of Bucyrus, at 7:10 Friday night. Mr. Light's health had been precarious and a stroke of paralysis, suffered recently, was the beginning of the end.

Funeral services Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the Swingley Light home, Rev. C. L. Schuster officiating, and burial in Oakwood cemetery.

John Light was born in Pennsylvania on October 13, 1832, living to the age of 77 years, 8 months and 19 days. He came to Crawford county nearly fifty years ago and settled on a farm in Liberty township. For forty-five years, he followed the occupation of farmer, nearly all the time in the same township, then moved to Bucyrus on his retirement. A few years ago he and his wife moved to Weston, O., but he returned after her death to make his home with his nephew, with whom he lived for the past two years.

Mr. Light's wife was Rebecca Miller, whom he married late in life, their wedding taking place 14 years ago. Her death occurred at Weston two years ago.

Mr. Light had no children but is survived by two step-children and by one brother, Emanuel, of McClure, Henry county. There is also a step-sister, Mrs. Ellen Stephenson in Michigan.

Mr. Light was an upright and useful gentleman, of excellent character and a man who lived a worthy life. His friends regret his death and extend sympathy to the bereaved ones.
