When Charlotte Elvira Light was born on December 5, 1842, in Ohio, her father, Rev. John, was 37, and her mother, Phoebe, was 32. She married Cornelius V. Miles (1845-1926) on June 29, 1865, in Lee, Iowa.[1] They had seven children:
- Mertice Idellia Miles (1866–1890)
- Jennie Arizona Miles (1868–1949)
- John Edwin Miles (1870–1944)[2]
- William Orlando Miles (1872–1936)[3]
- Clarence Virgil Miles (1875–1948)[4][5][6]
- Charles Horner Miles (1877–1951)[7][8]
- Sarah Elvira Miles (1879–1951)
She died on December 2, 1879, at the age of 36.[9]
