Biography

WARREN — Avanell G. Boucher, 95, passed away and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born May 13, 1921, in Dixonville, Pa., the daughter of the late Floyd and Grace Lydic Lightner.

Avanell married Richard Boucher on Sept. 23, 1940. They shared 48 years of marriage until his passing in 1988.

She worked for HK Porter and was also a homemaker. Avanell was a long time member of the North Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, singing and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Avanell’s memory will be carried on by her daughter, Janice Boucher of Warren; her two sons, Jerry Boucher of La Follette, Tenn., and Murray (Lynda) Boucher of Mecca; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Avanell was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Brian; two sisters, Joyce Filler and LaRue Shaffer; and four brothers, Leon, Joseph, Dorse and Day Lightner.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where the Rev. James F. Baer will officiate. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Interment will be in Meadow Brook Memorial Park, Warren.

The family requests that material contributions be made to North Park Baptist Church or Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Road, Suite #270, Cleveland, OH 44125, in her memory.
