Research Notes

In Memoirs of an Irish Manse (William Corkey, 1961) John is described as a cousin of another famous Dr John Lillie DD out of Kelso - this one became head of the Presbyterian Church in Tasmania. While it doesn't seem their fathers were brothers, they may well have been 2nd or 3rd cousins.

Corkey also makes references to the Lillies of Kelso being descended from Huguenot refugees, although nothing to corroborate this has emerged.
