Thomas was born in Hingham, Massachusetts, on 22 December 1652. He was the son of Thomas Lincoln ("Thomas the Husbandman") and Margaret Langer. [1][2]

He was known by the epithet "The Carpenter" and sometimes by his father's epithet of "Husbandman."[3]

He died 28 September 1698, while on a visit to the town of Plymouth, Massachusetts,[4] or in the town of Hingham where he resided.[5]
