Biography

Martin, second of the name and son of Benjamin and Mary (Cushing) Lincoln, was born at Hingham, MA on August 19, 1769.[1] [2]

He married Lydia Cushing on January 6, 1802.[3] They were married by by Reverend Henry Ware Pastor at the first church of Hingham. [4]

Martin's father signed a will on February 17, 1810 in which Martin was left:

'I give to my son Martin Lincoln his heirs and assigns forever my homeplace with all the buildings thereon standing, also my orchard at Broad Cove aforesaid near Thomas Henry's homestead, also my Island beyond the Short Bridge, so called, and all my lands at Ship Lot, my middle pasture, so called, with the lands leading thereon. Also all the lands at Ship Lot & the planting fields, so called, which I purchased of Colonel John Barker; all lying within the town of Hingham aforesaid. Also, one half of my wood lot at Accord Pond.[5] Benjamin (Martin's brother) died on May 9, 1810.

Martin and his family lived on the paternal homestead at the corner of North and Lincoln Streets in Hingham.[1] He made his living as a farmer.[1]

He died 12 Apr in Hingham[1] or 13 April 1837 [6] His wife Lydia was granted administration of his estate.
