On 24 March 1858 Francis James Lindsay was baptized in St. Patrick's Church (Catholic) in Quebéc by P. O. Drolet. Francis was born on 8 February 1858. The godparents were John Lindsay (who could not write) and Margaret Cantwell. The father, John Lindsay (Hotel keeper) was absent.[1] He was baptized again in St. Andrew's Church (Presbyterian) Quebéc by Duncan Morrison on 26 March 1858.[2] Here is name is recorded as William Francis. Only his father, John Lindsay, signed the record.
Canada Census
1861 - "F" (age 3) was counted in Quebéc City with his parents and four siblings.[3].
Death and Burial
Francis James Lindsay died on 21 April 1862 and was buried in Mt. Hermon Cemetery[4] two days later on 23 April.[5] The burial was recorded at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity (Anglican) by George Houseman and signed by John Lindsay and James A Staton. The cause of death was "water on the brain" [1].
