Biography of James Lindsay

James Lindsay is a member of Clan Lindsay.

James Lindsay was born on 5 Aug 1870 in Skirling, Peeblesshire, (Hamilton) Scotland. His parents were John Lindsay and Catherine Young. ^[1] He arrived in America in either 1903 ^[2] or 1904.^[3] He was 32 or 33 years old and married to Madeline Blair, also from Scotland. ^[4] The family settled in Franklin, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania.

James and Madeline had four children:

• Margaret Hamilton Lindsay Geiger (1893-1973) ^[5]
• John Blair Lindsay (1896-1984) ^[6]
• Catharine Y. Lindsay Franke (1901-1992) ^[7]
• Madeline Blair Lindsay Lawrence ^[8]

James was a coal miner by trade. ^[9]

James passed away at the age of 75 on 22 Sep 1945 in Export, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania, USA. The cause of death was apoplexy due to hypertension. ^[10]
