Orin Lindsay, age 25, b. Iowa, and his brother, Chester Alexander Lindsay, age 21, b. Iowa, both registered to vote in 1884, Santa Rosa, Sonoma Co. California. Their names are found on p.50 of the Great Register there.

Orin A. Lindsay, b. abt 1859, registered to vote in 1886, in El Dorado Co. California.

In 1892, Orrin was working as a teamster for the Dunaway Lumber Yard in East Portland, Oregon.

Orin married three times:

1. widow of Robert Franklin Cole, Mrs. Mary Jane (Fields) Cole (1855–1898), married about 1890
2. widow of his brother, Eugene William Lindsay, Mrs. Mary Ellen Love Lindsay (1862–1916), married about 1910
3. Elizabeth (Jacobs-McFarlane) Claggett (1857–1932) on 15 Mar 1917, Vancouver, Washington, daughter of Abraham Okey & Rebecca (Morley) Jacobs, who married 22 Dec 1848, Henry Co. Iowa. Elizabeth Jacobs had married 1st, 11 Jan 1874, Alexander McFarlane (divorced 1899); she married 2nd, 1905, William J. D. Claggett (divorced 1908), and married 3rd, Orin. Elizabeth died 11 Dec 1932, aged 76y 6m 3d.
