William Ling, born 06 Jun 1813 in Redgrave Norfolk/Suffolk England, baptized 16 Oct 1814 in Rickinghall Inferior Suffolk England, died 12 Apr 1870 in New Norfolk Tasmania, buried in New Norfolk Tasmania, occupation Rail PlateLayer/Farmer. Was one of the first preachers in the Penguin Creek district, with son George. Information from valuation roll 1867: owned house and land (64 acres) in Myrtle Creek, annual valuation of property: 3 pounds.
There were no Ministers appointed at Penguin Creek when the Methodist Church building was opened in January 1866. Therefore William Ling snr. and George were among some of the first preachers in the district.
