Biography

Denis was born in 1929. He was the son of Nikolaus Link and Mercia Johnson. He passed away in 1989.

b St. Martin, London, 15.5.1930 (Registered Apr-June 1930). D. Enfield, London. Married Renee J Silver (b 1935, Stepney) in 1956 in Islington. Children - 1. Gina D Link (b 1957, Wood Green; m Alan J Morton, 1990, Enfield; child - Alessandra Link-Morton, 1997, Luton); 2. Christine (b 1959, Wood Green; m Nicholas Loizides,1980, Haringey and Ian Nash, 1998, Enfield; Children - Michelle Lisa Loizides[1982, Enfield], Dion Michael Loizides[1984, Enfield], Jordon Nash[1999]); 3. Nicolette(b 1960, Wood Green; m Andreas Christodoulou, Haringey, 1981; children- Tasha Christodoulou[1986, Enfield], Antony Christodoulou[1991, Enfield]). 4. Son Nicholas born in 1962 and died same year. In 1939 Denis was evacuated with his sister Joyce and in the 1939 census, Denis J Link (b 15.5.1930) was at The Mollowry (a large house at Bedford Road, Riseley Bedford MK44 1EF). The owners were Eric, J.T. and Wendy, E. Goudie. Eric Goudie was 31 yrs. and was a Director of company manufacturing aircraft engine parts(corrected later to Managing director of Discount [sic]). There was also a cook, a butler and a housemaid. One entry also shows another cook and another child (Doris D Bartram(Dell) b 9.10.1925 - ? she was another evacuee). There were 4 other people with closed records one of whom would have been his sister, Joyce. They moved to another house, Dennis was very unhappy and went home to London. His sister, Hazel was evacuated to Bedford and Joyce was later also billeted in Bedford with a couple called Ruff and then another elderly couple.
