Biography

Robert William Linn was born in 1897 in Union Township, Marion, West Virginia. He was the son of Samuel W. "Red Sam" Linn and Martha Jane Linn. [1] [2] [3]

12 Sep 1918 Robert William Linn (age 20) registered for the WWI draft. Address: RFD #1 Hammond, Marion, West Virginia. He was born 30 Dec 1897. He was a farmer. He was short, with a slender build, blue eyes and light hair. Contact: Martha Jane Linn (mother). [4]

In 1920 Robert William Linn (single, age 22) is living in Union District, Marion, West Virginia with his widowed mother Martha Linn (age 68) and siblings John S (single, age 40), Samuel (single, age 39), Margaret A (single, age 36), Harriet (single, age 33), and Mary A (single, age 29). Martha is a farm operator. John, Samuel, and Robert are laborers on the family farm.[5]


He passed away at age 56 on 2 Nov 1954 in Marion, West Virginia. Born: 30 Dec 1897; He was a farmer; never married; Samuel W. Linn and Martha Jane Linn; Informant: Elizabeth Jane Linn. His death record says that he died from a fractured skull, suffered from being hit by an automobile as he walked along the road. He was never married. [6] He is buried in Glady Creek Cemetery in Marion, West Virginia.[7]
