Biography
Andrew Linn, Sr. was born on 6 August 1768 in Cumber Parish, County Londonderry, Ireland. On 4 February 1792, he was married to Martha Polk in Cumber Parish. Two months later, the couple left Ireland for America on the ship "Patsey Rutledge". Arriving in Philadelphia, they remained there until 1797, in which year they moved northwest and rented a piece of farmland in Howard Township of Centre County, Pennsylvania. The couple purchased the land in 1802 and farmed there for many years.[1] Sometime before 1850, however, they moved to Liberty Township in the same county. They were enumerated in the 1850 census, in the household immediately after that of their son Andrew Linn, Jr., as follows ...
