Biography
Lavina was born in 1870, the daughter of William "Soldier Billy" Linn and Eliabeth Jane MIller. She married Martin Keener in 1889. Lavina passed away in 1951.[1]
Mrs. Lavina Keener Expires In Idamay; Burial On Sunday. West Virginian. Fairmont, WV. Friday, Feb. 23, 1951.
Excerpt -- Mrs. Lavina Linn Keener, born Jan. 29, 1870, died early this morning at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Keener, Idamay. She had made her home in Idamay for the past several years. Mrs. Keener was one of nine children born to William and Elizabeth Linn near Popular Island. Survivors are her children, Mrs. Bessie Hicks, Idamay; Mrs. Ora Shaffer, Fairmont; Mrs. Mary Cochran, Idamay; Boyd, Farmington; Howard, Baxter, Basil, Idamay; Clyde, Farmington; Joe, Idamay. A sister, Mrs. Rose Little lives on Rt. 250. There are 30 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be Sunday in Levels church. Burial will be in the Shriver cemetery.
