Annie Lipke Cunningham was a serial killer. Between 1918 and 1922 she murdered her husband David Cunningham and 4 of her 6 children by arsenic poisoning.
David's nephew, George Arnold, went to authorities with his suspicions about the deaths. Bodies were exhumed and tested for arsenic after which she was arrested. She later confessed that she had done it for the insurance money. A total of $5,500 for all 5 victims.
She had also poisoned the last of her sons who was hospitalized but he survived.
She was tried and convicted in 1925 and sentenced to life without parole.
