Note

Originally this profile stated John was born in 1731, married in America at 9 years old in 1740 but yet comes to America 10 years after he was married here. This profile is proof that you cant always trust a family tree, sometimes people get their dates wrong. This was A prime example of Why sources are needed other than what someone wrote down 50 years ago.

Biography

Johannes “John” Lipps was born February 22, 1721 in Soest, Whestfalen, Germany, the son of Diederich Lipps. He married after 1750 to Elizabeth Holderman/Holmes in North Carolina. John died August 8, 1782 at Wilkes County, North Carolina, United States.


Immigration

Came to U.S. 1750 aboard the Phoenix and landed in Philadelphia.
