Biography

Percy Morton Lipscombe was born in 1893. He was the younger son of Bertram Lipscombe and Alice Challenger.[1]

Percy married Glad Thomas in 1939.[2]

Percy was a farmer all his life. They retired from the poultry farm on the eastern side of Lipscombe Rd, Deception Bay to a house at 24 Bayview Terrace, Deception Bay, when it was still but a village, just a couple of hundred metres from the water. Never far from Percy's side was his close friend, Meredith-4305lJimmy Meredith, who lived with Percy and family from fifteen years of age until Glad's death in the 1980s.

Perce Lipscombe is a Military Veteran.
Served in the Australian Army Volunteer Defence Corps 1942-45
2nd Battalion

Percy served in the Volunteer Defence Corps during the Second World War, in 2nd Battalion; enlisted 23rd April 1942, discharged 21st October 1945.[3]

He passed away on the last day of 1972, of tuberculosis.[4]
