Lewis Little was the son of Capt Johann Daniel (Klein) Little Sr (1731 - 1775) and Annie Mary Lewis (1735 - 1805).

About 1831 “Methodists in the north [of present-day Catawba County] established what became known as Bethlehem Methodist Church. Located near the future site of Claremont, the church’s founders were Lewis and George Little, both class leaders on the Lincoln Circuit, Thomas Witherspoon, and Isaac Lowrance."[10]

Catawba County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, June 1844 sessions: Lewis Little served jury duty.
Tombstone inscription: "In memory of Lewis Little died Oct 29, 1847 In the 77 year of his age" [born circa 1769]. His Find A Grave memorial conflicts with his tombstone inscription and instead states "Lewis P. Lewis born 1770."[14]
December 1847 Catawba County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, p. 294. Geo S Little was appointed Administrator on the estate of Lewis Little and filed his administration bond in the sum of $800 with John Hunsucker as Security

pp. 413-415, December Sessions 1847, a true return of the property sold at the late Residence of Lewis Little deceased the 9th day of December 1847, signed Geo S Little, Administrator. A lengthy list of personal property items with purchasers identified; the only Little purchaser was Daniel Little. Sale proceeds were $265.[15]
pp. 430-432. April Sessions 1848. The following is a true return of the property sold at the late residence of Lewis Little on the 7th day of January 1848. Purchasers included Catharine Little, Elitha Little, Sally Little, Daniel Little, and P Little. Proceeds were $123.24. Good debts due amounted to $5.79 ½. Bad debts due amounted to $10.72 ½.[16]
p. 449. October Sessions 1848. An account of sale of property 25 September 1848 belonging to the estate of Lewis Little deceased made by George S. Little, administrator, on 25 September 1848. Proceeds amounted to $21.21 ½. Purchasers included Catharine Little, Elitha Little, Daniel Little, and Sally Little, Reported to county court the 16 day of October 1848 by George S. Little, Admr.[17]
p. 501. April Sessions 1850. We the Committee to whom was refered the Settlement of the estate of Lewis Little decd with the Admr G. S. Little find remaining in said Administrators hands due said estate the sum of $249.58 ½, H. B. Witherspoon, J.P., E. R. Shuford, J.P.[18]
