Biography

Education: 1924 Platteville, WI, University of Wisconsin BA 1924.

Note: Lois' early years were spent in Platteville, WI where her father was president of the Normal School.In 1909 she moved by train to Forest Grove, OR, a town of 2,000. From their large 2 story home she could see Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams and Mt.St. Henens in the distance.In the kitchen was a large wood burning stove and until a proper bathroom was built there were only outdoor facilities. A big washtub was brought in by the wood stove for hot baths.After her fathers's death Lois and her mother moved back to Platteville, WI. After high school Lois graduated from Normal School and taught high school English, botany and coached the debate team. After her mother died Lois graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1924. She then worked in the furniture department at Macy's in New York. She met Earl Moserat the Adirondack Mountain Club and was married in 1933. She moved to Austrailia, had twins John and Patricia, moved back to Seattle and then Pasadena, CA and retired in Carmel, CA. 2 There is a letter dated 4181942? (in the possession of Richard DuBridge) describing life in Australia during the war.
