Biography

Dr. M.W. Livingston (Maxwell Livingston) was born in 1906 in Livingston, Wisconsin. The town was founded by his great uncle. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in 1933. His internship was at the White Cross Hospital, on the property which is now Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He met Bessie Delzena Dennison around this time; she was a nurse, probably at the same hospital. They married sometime before 1935 and had two daughters: Shirley and Margaret.

Dr. Livingston moved his private practice to Sunbury, Ohio in 1941, where he was the only town doctor. Bessie died by suicide in 1942. Dr. Livingston remarried one year later to Pauline Crawford and had three more children: David, Sharma, and Patrick (Pat).

In 1993, Dr. Livingston died at Riverside Methodist Hospital--the same property where he started his career and met his first wife. His second wife Pauline died in 2004.
