Biography

Anna Catherina _____ Becker Haus was born, say, around 1670-1680. She passed away in 1793.[1]

Anna Catherina of Dörnberg, widow of Johann Becker of Dörnberg, married Christian Hauss on September 27, 1710. The same day Anna Catherina. the daughter of Johann Henrich Becker of Weerheim married Abraham Lauck. It is an open question whether there were related, and it is even possible that Johann Becker and Johann Heinrich Becker were the same man.[2] Consequently it is difficult to determine the list of Anna Catherina's children. She appears on the Hunter list of June 30, 1710 with two persons over the age of 10 and two under the age of 10. The August 4, 1710 list has her with two persons over the age of 10 and 1 under the age of 10. The October 4, 1710 entry has her with 1 person over 10 and 2 under 10 with the notation that she had married John Christian Haus.[3]

Henry Jones provides a speculative list of the children of Johann Becker and Anna Catherina as follows: 1) Johann Jacob, married Maria Elisabetha Laux 2) Ottilia, married Christian Bauch, Jr. 3) Anna Margaretha, married first Johannes Ingoldt and second Anthony Widmer 4) Maria 5) Magdalena and 6) Johannes.[4] As Anna Catherina´s stepson Reinhardt Haus settled near the Becker children, that may provide a way to identify some of them.

She was the second wife of Johann Christian Haus. His first wife had died on the journey from Europe to New York, and he married Anna Catherina Becker at West Camp, New York, on September 27, 1710.[5] They were married by Rev. Joshua Kocherthal.
Sept. 27th: Christian HAUSS, widower, a carpenter, of Alten-Staeden, near Wetzler, duchy of Solm and Anna Catharina BECKER, widow of the late Johann BECKER, of Duernberg, near Dietz, commune Schaumburg.[6]

Unsourced genealogies give death dates of 1715 and 1793. 1715 is far more probable. Also the birth date of 1690 is impossible, if she had six children by 1710.

per Johann House's bio: the current view seems to be that Elias, Johannes, Reinhardt, George, Hermannus and Conrad were the sons, born in Germany, of the first wife who died on the journey, and that Peter was the son of Anna Catherina Becker

The children of Johan House imigrated with him, Anna Catherina Becker is not the biological mother.

Their mother died at sea during immigration.

The 2 Johann Becker's have a merge pending.

The merge will get default approval in about a week and the two profiles can be combined into one at that time.

I have 2 johann becker's how can I fix this

Ller-37 and Ller-38 appear to represent the same person because: both have same LNAB, so merge can proceed

Becker was her first husband's name, so the parents listed here must be incorrect.

Set as unmerged match with Ller-37. I have written to PM of Ller-37 asking for sources. This eventually must be merged either into Ller-37 or Unknown.

Becker-3329 and Becker-4627 appear to represent the same person because: The 1690 birth is more likely, as the marriage was 1710
