Major General Thomas Lloyd - bc1736, Will 1792; wife Margaret
"Served under General Boquet in the French & Indian Wars: See Colonial Records. Thomas Lloyd was known as General because he had been commissioned Major General of Militia by Colonial Governor William Tryon in 1768. He was too old for military service in the Revolution, but was an active Patriot, furnishing supplies to the Patriot armies, as is shown by claims awarded him by the Auditors of Revolutionary Army Accounts and recorded in the original accounts. He had been a member also of the Colonial Assembly from Orange County in 1761-1766."
