Biography

Margaret Lloyd was born on 23 June 1754 to Thomas Lloyd and Tabitha Unknown.[1]

She married Adlai Osborne in 1771 in North Carolina.[1][2][3]

They had eleven children, including[4]:

  1. Mary Lloyd Osborne (Born: 6 Sep 1774), 1) married Abner Sharpe (1772-1807), 2) married Captain John May Young
  2. Margaret McWhorter (Osborne) Davidson, married Robert "Robin" Davidson, no children

She died on 23 September 1830 in Iredell County, North Carolina.[1][5][6][2]

The inscription on her gravestone at Centre Presbyterian Church Cemetery states[1]:

"Sacred to the memory of Mrs. Margaret Osborne wife of Col Adlai Osborne who departed this life on the 23rd September 1830 Aged 75 years".
