Stella was born March 26, 1904 in Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina, United States. She was a daughter of Edward Lloyd and Bridget Hogan.

Stella married Leroy Altman. Stella and Leroy had the following children:

  2. James Lloyd Altman
  3. Elinor Janet Altman
  4. Mary Frances Altman

Stella passed away July 2, 1988 in Walterboro, Colleton County, South Carolina, United States and was laid to rest at the Live Oak Memorial Gardens in Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina, United States.
