Erbyn 2il Ebrill 1871, roedd Elis yn fyfyriwr diwinyddol yng Ngholeg Diwinyddol y Bala.
Erbyn 5ed Ebrill 1891, roedd Elis a Harriet yn byw yn 59 Hardshaw Street, Windle, St Helens. Roedd Elis yn weinidog Methodistiaid Calfinaidd yno. 69A Hardshaw Street oedd cyfeiriad y capel Cymreig. Doedd dim plant yn y tŷ.
Yn Ebrill 1893, roedd Elis yn feirniad y traethawd mewn cyfarfod cystadleuol a gynhaliwyd gan y Methodistiaid Calfinaidd yn Widnes, Lancashire. "Gwaredigaeth yr Israeliaid o'r Aifft" oedd y pwnc.[1]
Ar 9 Gorffennaf 1893, pregethodd Elis yng nghapel y Methodistiaid Calfinaidd yn Bootle, Lancashire.[2]
Bu farw Harriet 18 Gorffennaf 1893 yn St Helens, yn 53 oed, yn ei chartref, 59 Hardshaw St, St Helens.[3][4]
Ar 27ain Hydref 1894, cynhaliwyd cyfarfod ymadawol ar ôl i Elis ymddiswyddo fel gweinidog ar eglwysi Methodistiaid Calfinaidd St Helens a'r Junction ag Earlestown. Cyflwynwyd pwrs iddo'n anrheg. Roedd wedi bod yn weinidog yno ers deunaw mlynedd a hanner.[5]
Ellis married Harriet Foulke in 1868 in Llanfyllin district.
By April 2nd 1871, Ellis was a student in Bala Theological College.
By April 5th 1891, Ellis and Harriet were living at 59 Hardshaw Street, Windle, St Helens. Ellis was a Calvinistic Methodist minister. The Welsh Methodist chapel was at 69A Hardshaw Street. There were no children in the household.
In April 1893, Ellis acted as judge of the essay at a competitive meeting held by the Calvinistic Methodists in Widnes, Lancashire. The topic was the escape of the Israelites from Egypt.[1]
On 9 Jul 1893, Ellis preached in the chapel of the Calvinistic Methodists in Bottle, Lancashire.[2]
Harriet died on 18 Jul 1893 at her home, 59 Hardshaw Street, St Helens, aged 53.[3][4]
On 27 Oct 1894, a meeting was held to mark the departure of Ellis after he resigned as minister of the three Calvinistic Methodist Chapels of St Helens, the Junction and Earlestown. He was presented with a sum of money. He had been minister there for eighteen and a half years.[5]
