John was born about 1817 and baptised on 28th September 1817 in Rothwell, Northamptonshire, England. He was the son of Thomas Loake and Elizabeth Timpson.[1]
He married Hannah Cleaver in 1850, the marriage was registered in the June quarter in Kettering, Northamptonshire.[2]
His three sons founded Loake Brothers' Shoemakers in 1880 and John was employed as a warehouseman at the sons' business. [3]
