John Whittle-1650 and Rev. John Whittle-2367 are obviously different individuals. The entry for Joseph Whittle-371 lists them both as sons of Joseph. The problem, then, may be in Whittle-371. How do you think that profile should be changed? Jim Dougherty-2721.

Just looking at the birth dates of the children listed clearly shows some errors on Josephs profile. I don't know who came up with that information but its clearly full of errors.

Hi Anthony,

To summarize my research on the McFatters, there's a possibility that William McFatter https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/McFatter-72 and William McFatter https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/McFatter-90 are probably the same person. However, the William of 1850-60 claims to be considerably younger than the William who we first see in 1820 Horry co. SC. That's why I haven't merged them. However, with only a 12 year age gap, IF there are two Williams, it's hard to believe that one is the son of the other.

That being said, the older William is found in 1840 Decatur co., GA. He's got what appears to be a wife and maybe a sister or sister-in-law, plus 3 girls who are probably his daughters. I think it's very likely that Isabella Harden, Margaret Scott, and Daniel https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/McFatter-58 are his children. Margaret could be the oldest daughter in his household in 1840. The two younger girls, I have no idea.

The younger William (if he is indeed separate from the older William) appears in 1850-60, and has 4 children in 1860 Terrell co. GA: Alexander, Catharine, Francis, and Nancy. Weirdly, I have found no evidence for them after this census. What happened to these children? And who was this William, exactly? Is he the same man as the older William, shaving 12 years off his age? As of now, I do not know.

There WAS another William https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/McPhatter-3 but he stayed in Robeson county. He was married to Argent Harden -- surely a relative of Felix Harden who married Margaret McFatter. But how were all these men related?

I did a post on G2G explaining how it's difficult to find a candidate for a father of these Williams who were born 1790-1810. Basically, several of these older generation of McFatter men either had no children, had only daughters, or had sons named William who are attested in the sources and who died young.

I was looking at our DNA on another site when I happened to spot one of the posts you had made about your results.

It turns out that we share the same DNA haplogroup, which points to the Scottish Borders region in Scotland. This is our Y-DNA profile for the Larocque males descending from Philibert Couillaud dit Rocquebrune:

https://freepages.rootsweb.com/~louislarocque/genealogy/Genetic/L257_tree_June_17_2014a.pdf

I don't know how much you have learned about your results, but I'm guessing that yours also mostly mirrors Dunbar and Cockburn, the largest populations with our shared DNA.

Hi Darrell,

Yes my BigY results do mirror the Cockburn and Dunbars. Seems we all have a Scottish root.

Good Afternoon! I started really working on WikiTree today and saw that we have common Ancestors and are both Native Floridians. Daniel Creamer and Martha Wimberley are my 4GGrandparents. I look forward to perusing the site and adding more information to my Family Tree!

Many Blessings to You and Yours! AJ

Hi cousin,

Sorry it took so long to respond. Daniel arrived in South Carolina in November of 1826 from County Cork, Ireland where he was born. A few months later he settled in Edgefield County, South Carolina where he bought land.

He left South Carolina in the 1830's and ended up in Marion County, Georgia where he became a member of the Phillippi Primitive Baptist Church. He remained there until 1837 after he was excommunicated for being intoxicated and disorderly conduct.

He they moved his family to Henry County, Alabama. This is where his daughters met the Lock family and my ancestor James A. Lock married 1st Elizabeth Creamer until she died in childbirth and the married her sister Martha Creamer from whom I descend.

He joined the Piney Grove Baptist Church there until 1859 when he moved yet again to Santa Rosa, Florida where he stayed until sometime in the late 1860's when he made his final move to Washington County, Florida where he died.

Hi Anthony

I note you have been marking ancestors as confirmed with DNA, yet haven’t added your DNA test to your profile. That isn’t quite how we do things at WikiTree.

Getting started with DNA outlines how to proceed to use your DNA test information on WikiTree and DNA is a link to a collection of links about WikiTree's many features involving DNA.

The DNA Connections list on your profile will provide a visual way for you to find potential relatives on WikiTree who have also added their DNA test information. Using DNA tools at sites like GEDMatch.com, if you find a relative that matches your DNA sufficiently and you have genealogical sources for the intermediate relationships, you can mark the specific parental relationships back to the most recent ancestor that you both share as "confirmed with DNA." For details, guidance, and examples of how to properly document DNA confirmations, see DNA confirmation.

Please could you add your DNA test to your profile and document your Ancestors DNA confirmation as required.

Many thanks Wendy

I had it on there but after be told I was wrong I removed it. I will find the ones I missed and remove them too.

Thanks
