Catharine Locke, daughter of Captain Josiah and Persis (Mathews) Locke was born at Westborough, Massachusetts on August 31, 1760. ^{[1] [2]}

She married Amos Wheeler at Wilmington, Vermont on March 2, 1780. ^{[3] [4] [2]} Amos was born at Concord, Massachusetts on July 28, 1756. son of Jonas and Persis ( Brooks) Wheeler July 28, 1756. ^{[5] [6]}

Amos Wheeler died at Brookfield, New York on September 15, 1839

His widow Catharine died at Brookfield, Madison Co., New York on April 4, 1851, aged 90 yrs 7 mos and 4 days. She is buried in the Mott Cemetery, Madison, New York where her inscription reads: 91st yr; w/o Amos Wheeler . ^[7]
