David H. Lockhart was born on May 1, 1847 in Havelock, New Brunswick. He was the son of William Lockhart and Delia Beckwith. His mother died when he was about 11 years old. In 1861, he was living with his older brother, John. In 1871, David was living next to his brother Steadman and his family in Kent, Carleton County.
David married Annie Emma Morris around 1871. They raised their family in Moncton, where David worked as a machinist with the railway. They had 10 children, 7 of whom died in childhood.
Annie died of consumption at the age of 41, on March 22, 1888. In 1891, widow David was living with his three surviving children, Clara (16), John (14) and Herbert (12).
David married Mary Jane Rushton on June 18, 1895 in Petitcodiac, New Brunswick. They lived in Moncton. He died on March 4, 1923 at the age of 75.
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with David by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with David:
