Biography

John Lockhart was born on February 14, 1795 in Newport, Nova Scotia. He was the son of Alexander Lockhart and Elizabeth Irish. John married Mary Hicks on May 18, 1816. He was a farmer and also operated a grist and carding mill. They had 10 children.

John died on December 20, 1878 and was buried at the Old St. James Cemetery, Brooklyn, Nova Scotia[1]
