2ND BARONET
Sir Symon built his castle, referred to as “The Lee,” in the valley of the Brocklinn or Mashock Burn, a tiny stream which joins the river Clyde at Crossford a couple of miles away. The house that stands on that original site today is the re-built version by Sir Charles Macdonald Lockhart in about 1817. Later, the Lockharts sold the residence in order to pay the country’s increased taxation; it is no longer owned by a Lockhart.[1]
(16G-Lee) 1. Sir Charles MACDONALD LOCKHART (b. 8 Feb 1799-d. 8 Dec 1832), [SML]

+ m. Emelia Olivia ROSS of Balnagowan. [SML]
• Applied for the title of Count–awarded to his great uncle Count James, officially transferred to Count James’ son Charles, then extinguished by the death of Charles–to be transferred to him. A snobbish thing to do, but, he was officially authorized as Count Macdonald Lockhart. [SML]

+ 1. Mary Jane Macdonald Lockhart (18th of Largie), m. Augustos MORETON. [SML]
