Mary was born in 1931. She is the daughter of Ralph Lockhart and Mary Smith.


Connie Ward Connie Ward passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 1, 2019 on her 88th birthday with her family by her side. Born in Moncton, daughter of the late Maj. Ralph E. and Mary V. (Smith) Lockhart.

Connie will be sadly missed by her three sons, Bryan (Susan Walker), Stuart (Janice), Jeffrey (Janet) and one daughter, Beth (John) Demko, seven grandchildren, Amanda Gauvin (Daniel Barrett), Amy Lavier (Presley), Evan Ward, Mitchell Ward (Anica James), Rachel Ward, Alec Ward and Hannah Ward, and two dearly loved great grandchildren, Lilah Barrett and Matthew Lavier. Connie is also survived by one sister Jessie Blight (William) and brother-in-law Robert Ford and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Besides her parents, Connie was predeceased by her husband Harold (1989), sisters, Pamela Wall and Shirley Ford, brother Deane Lockhart and his wife Shirley, nephew John Ford and great grandson Cameron Lavier.

Connie was an avid bridge player, sometimes playing six times a week. In her earlier years she also enjoyed bowling and golf. She was always up for a game of some kind including Scrabble, Yahtzee, Rummikub and Cribbage. Prior to her marriage, Connie was employed with CNR in Moncton in the payroll department, a position she really enjoyed. Right out of high of high school, she taught in a one room school house in Berryton. She was a caring person, always thinking about others before herself.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohn’s Colitis Foundation of Canada or the Cameron Lavier Memorial Endowment Fund C/O Children’s Hospital of Eastern Hospital of Ontario (CHEO).

A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Friday, July 5 at 2:00 pm followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fair Haven Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530.[1]
