Elizabeth is one of 8 children born to John Henry Lockhart and Evelyn Ruth Crump. She attended Camden Central High School, Camden, NY and graduated 1964. Attended Mohawk Community College and State University of New York, Institute of Technology graduating in 1986 with a BA in Business Management. I was married for almost 10 years to Thomas Edward Post. I have never remarried, but am enjoying my life. I love to take care of my flower beds and have done quite a bit of traveling. I have been to all 50 states, been on 8 Carribean Cruises, gone to Scotland, Ireland, Puerto Rico, France, Switzerland, Monico, Italy, Austria, Germany, Quebec, Ontario, and British Columbia. I drove across the United States from New York at the age of 66 all by myself as I couldn't get anyone to go with me. I have 4 children (2 boys & 2 girls), 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren who I adore.

A cousin got me into genealogy in 1987 when I visited her in Connecticut. At first I only worked on my Lockhart line. Then I got a computer in 1998 and started to go crazy by researching, my Crump, Patrick, and Caya line. My grandmother told me that her mother was a full-blooded Indian, but I have not been able to verify what tribe. She told me when I was younger, but at that time, I didn't recognize the name of the tribe and so it slipped my mind. I have updated information on the familysearch.org and findagrave.com websites.

I believe genealogy should be free on the Internet and hesitate putting my data online. Rootsweb.com was a great help, but the Ancestry.com bought it out and now it is not free anymore. I don't want people to have to pay for my data. If you have a question, I will see if I can answer.

I have read that the Lockhart's were originally though to have been Vikings that invaded Scotland and that all Lockharts are related. Sir Walter Scott married Sophia Lockhart, the daughter of John Gibson Lockhart (a famous author). Sir Walter Scott did a genealogy research on John Gibson Lockhart and it was very interesting. I am hoping that I can make the connection as his line goes back to about 1200. So far, no luck finding exactly who came to American and then Canada.

I have read Douglas Eagles book "The Lockharts of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick" and the "Upper Ward of Lanarkshire" which talks about the early records of the Lockharts in Scotland.

I recently discovered that my Patrick line came from France. The French settled in Quebec which is where my grandfather on my mother's side was born. The Patrick surname varies from Patrick, Patric, Patris, Patra, Patria, Patre, Patrie, and Patry.
