Ida Mary Lockhart was born on 11 May 1872 in Mulmur, Simcoe, Ontario, Canada, daughter of Robert John Lockhart (1838–1924) and Mary Jane Fogal (1838–1934).[1]

Ida had a sister, Elizabeth Beulah Lockhart (2 March 1869 – 4 October 1939).

Ida (18) married David Bellamy (17) (born on 22 January 1873 in Osprey Twp, Grey; son of Robert Bellamy and Ruth (Gugins) Bellamy) on 11 June 1890 in Singhampton, Grey, Ontario, Canada. Their children were:
