Biography

Beecham is a corruption of the surname Beauchamp. He was named for Alfred Beauchamp (1807-1870).

1860 residence Wirt County, VA (now WV); 1870 residence Elizabeth Twp., Wirt County, WV; 1880 residence Elizabeth District, Wirt County, WV; 1900 residence Elizabeth District, Wirt County, WV; 1910 residence Elizabeth Magisterial District, Wirt County, WV

1860 Census finds Alfred married, with daughter Nancy age 1. His widowed sister Nancy Cheuvront (Cheveront) and her three children are also living with him.

By 1870, Alfred and Sarah's family has grown from one child to five children with Nancy at age 10 and the youngest, E.A. age two.

In 1900, Alfred finds himself with a full house still. He and his wife, three sons, two grandsons last name Franks, a daughter Dora and her husband, John W. Park, and their four year old daughter Thelma. He was 62 years old.

By 1910, Alfred is living with a servant and a boarder. An empty house. He was 73.
